A Swedish GrapheneOS device offer should procure unlocked European Pixels through a supplier that permits resale, issues the right VAT documentation, and allocates warranty and defect responsibility in writing.

The Google Store is not a resale source. Its Swedish consumer terms restrict purchases to personal, non-commercial use and prohibit resale. Public Google Store and retail prices are therefore market benchmarks, not wholesale authorization.

GrapheneOS currently recommends Pixel 8 and later phones because they receive at least seven years of full OEM support from launch and have newer hardware security features.

The recommended range and stated minimum support ends are:

• Pixel 10a: March 2033
• Pixel 10, 10 Pro, and 10 Pro XL: August 2032
• Pixel 10 Pro Fold: October 2032
• Pixel 9a: April 2032
• Pixel 9, 9 Pro, and 9 Pro XL: August 2031
• Pixel 9 Pro Fold: August 2031
• Pixel 8a: May 2031
• Pixel 8 and 8 Pro: October 2030

Pixel 6, Pixel 7, the original Pixel Fold, and the Pixel Tablet still have official builds, but GrapheneOS does not recommend buying them for a new deployment. Their shorter support runway makes them poor resale inventory.

Swedish public-price snapshotCopy wiki link

This snapshot was checked on 2026-07-13. It uses the lowest visible Swedish public price for the base storage tier. “Normal-VAT net” is the advertised price divided by 1.25 and is valid only when the seller issues an ordinary 25-percent VAT invoice. It is not a negotiated dealer price.

The refurbished column is a visible cash price including any applicable tax. It is not presented as ex-VAT and must not be compared directly with the new net-after-VAT column. For a cash-price comparison, compare “New cash incl. VAT” with “Refurbished cash”.

On that basis, Pixel 10a was the only listed model where the observed new price was genuinely lower than the refurbished price: 4,290 SEK new versus 4,519 SEK refurbished. For the other models, the refurbished cash price was lower than the new cash price.

For economic acquisition cost, compare the new net-after-VAT price with the full refurbished cash price unless the refurbished seller confirms ordinary VAT on the invoice. Storage, condition, seller, and stock vary, and a superficially cheaper used listing may use vinstmarginalbeskattning rather than ordinary VAT.

Public business-retailer prices provide a second check. Dustin listed campaign prices around 3,599 SEK excluding VAT for Pixel 10a 128 GB, 5,199 SEK for Pixel 10 128 GB, 7,039 SEK for Pixel 10 Pro 128 GB, and 8,799 SEK for Pixel 10 Pro XL 256 GB. These are still public retail offers, not a documented reseller margin or supply commitment.

Refurbished Pixels are available in Sweden. PhoneHero listed Pixel 8, 9a, 9 Pro XL, 10a, and 10 Pro Fold stock or model pages, with technical testing, unlocked status, and a twelve-month warranty. Refurbed and retailer outlet stock add further supply.

Availability alone does not make a device resale-ready. For every unit, record:

• IMEI and proof that it is not blocked or financed
• exact regional model and cellular-band support
• unlocked bootloader capability, not only carrier or SIM-unlocked status
• battery-health measurement and minimum acceptance threshold
• display, USB, camera, microphone, radio, and sensor test results
• GrapheneOS installation, locked bootloader, verified-boot key check, and final factory-reset state
• cosmetic grade, repair history, parts provenance, warranty, and return allocation
• whether the purchase invoice uses ordinary VAT or VMB

PhoneHero exposes a filter for devices sold with VAT. That distinction should become a procurement field, not a checkout surprise.

Under ordinary Swedish VAT treatment, a VAT-registered buyer can normally deduct separately invoiced input VAT. The net acquisition cost for a price including 25-percent VAT is therefore:

normal-VAT net cost = advertised price / 1.25

That calculation must not be applied to a VMB purchase. Under Skatteverket’s rules for second-hand goods, the seller calculates VAT on its margin and does not state a deductible VAT amount on the customer’s invoice. The buyer’s effective acquisition cost is then the full invoice amount. Vinstmarginalbeskattning explains the eligibility, calculation, invoice wording, and IMEI-level evidence requirements.

If the business later resells a used phone, whether it may or should use VMB depends on how that specific unit was bought. The IMEI-level inventory record must preserve the tax treatment. Accounting advice is appropriate before mixing ordinary-VAT and VMB inventory. Swedish VAT for ecommerce places both routes in the wider domestic, EU, and import context.

The smallest credible range is three stock-keeping units:

• Pixel 10a 128 GB as the default new value model
• Pixel 10 128 GB as the default premium model
• refurbished Pixel 8 128 GB as the lower-price circular option

Pixel 10a is currently a better new value proposition than Pixel 9a because their public prices are nearly identical while Pixel 10a has roughly one more year of promised support.

Pixel 8 refurbished is the stronger low-price experiment when the supplier can provide repeatable battery, bootloader, VAT, and warranty evidence. Pixel 8a new stock is unattractive at the observed price because it costs more than Pixel 10a.

Pro and Fold models should begin as preorder or special-order products. They tie up much more cash, produce a thinner addressable market, and increase display, repair, and return risk.

The device margin must cover more than the handset spread:

device contribution = customer price excluding VAT
  - handset acquisition cost
  - inbound freight and payment cost
  - installation and verification labor
  - packaging and delivery subsidy
  - expected warranty, return, and battery reserve
  - first-line support time

Buying ordinary retail stock at a public campaign price does not create a stable business margin. The venture needs a reseller-authorized supplier, repeatable batches, written warranty allocation, and either dealer discount or a separately valuable setup and support fee.
