SCB historical Swedish birth series
Statistics Sweden’s historical series reports annual live births in Sweden from 1900 onward and supplies the demographic basis for identifying unusually large or small birth cohorts. The 1940s include a conspicuous run of large cohorts, although the exact population later eligible to vote also depends on survival and migration.
The series establishes cohort size, not political unity or policy influence. It supports the demographic premise in Boomers and democracy but cannot establish the proposed causal mechanism by itself.
