You can ask Google to remove some of your private Personally Identifiable Information from Google Search results.
What kind of information can you ask to be removed
- Your address, phone number, or email
- Confidential government IDs, like:
- Social Security or tax ID numbers
- Resident ID card number
- Your bank account or credit card number
- Pictures of your signature or ID
- Private records, like medical records
- Confidential usernames and passwords
Tip: To find and request the removal of search results with contact details like your address, phone number, or email, use the "Results about you" feature. With it, you can also set up notifications for new results. Learn how to find and remove personal contact info.
Report doxxing content
Doxxing is when people share your private information to harm you. You can ask Google to remove doxxing content as long as there’s a URL with one of the following:
- Your personal info along with explicit or implicit threats against you (or calls for others to harm or harass you).
- A significant amount of aggregated personal info without a legitimate purpose.
Request for removal
If the information is about you, you or a representative can ask Google to take it down.
When you fill out the request form, you must provide the website addresses (URLs) for the pages that have your personal information. Only those URLs are reviewed for removal from Search results. Learn how to find a URL.
Google can only remove things from Google Search results. If you want something taken off the website that hosts the content, learn about contacting the website’s owner.
Tip: Anyone can report nude or sexual pictures that show people under the age of 18.
