Fällda för sexövergrepp

Thérèse Juel’s Fällda för sexövergrepp: om rättsfall i Sverige is advocacy journalism about ten men whom the author considers wrongly convicted of sexual offences. The imported 2018 EPUB updates a work first published in 2010.

The cases repeatedly raise leading interviews, contagion between complainants, missing or untested records, shifting offence dates, weak defence work, expert overreach, and courts treating the language or development of a narrative as proof that it was based on lived experience. Several chapters also show how a vague or movable allegation can defeat a concrete alibi without producing new affirmative evidence.

The book is valuable as a map of mechanisms and neglected case material, not as independent proof that every subject was innocent. Most defendants remain legally convicted; the use of pseudonyms and omission of case numbers make several accounts difficult to audit independently. Those limitations must accompany any claim drawn from the book.

Its patterns are compared with the official findings in Felaktigt dömda inside Rättssäkerhet in Swedish criminal cases.
