Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten
Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY) is Sweden’s data-protection authority. It provides GDPR guidance, receives complaints about personal-data processing, and can supervise controllers.
For individual data-removal cases, the person should first make a request to the controller. IMY is an escalation route for an unanswered or non-compliant request, not a service that directly deletes the person’s data.
IMY’s work on people-search services with an utgivningsbevis is material to EU and Swedish data removal rights. It is conducting collective investigations into Lexbase and krimfup for criminal-offence data, and Upplysning.se and Mrkoll for responses to erasure requests.
After the 9 July 2026 CJEU judgment
Legal Newsdesk Sweden C-199 24,
IMY said it was analyzing the implications
for those investigations.
The pending decisions create a material current gap,
