Malwarebytes acquires AzireVPN to strengthen security and privacy offerings

Malwarebytes press release, 7 November 2024, announcing its acquisition of AzireVPN for undisclosed terms. saved copy

What it says

Malwarebytes frames the deal as adding AzireVPN’s VPN technology and intellectual property — above all Blind Operator, which disables remote and local access to servers — to its consumer security portfolio. It commits to continuing AzireVPN’s practice of physically owning and controlling dedicated diskless servers, and states there will be no changes for either Malwarebytes Privacy VPN or AzireVPN customers. CEO Marcin Kleczynski and AzireVPN co-founder William Oling supply the quoted endorsements.

Limitations

It is the acquirer’s own announcement: every commitment in it is a statement of intent by the party that benefits from the framing. Financial terms were not disclosed.

What it is evidence for

The canonical record of the ownership change described in AzireVPN, paired with the seller-side account in AzireVPN joins forces with Malwarebytes.
