This source bundle preserves official and scholarly orientation material used by Swedish housing regime. It combines an institutional description, a path-dependence account, and a current economic-policy assessment. The sources disagree in emphasis and do not by themselves prove that any birth cohort caused the regime.

Tenure forms

The preserved Boverket tenure overview and raw response distinguish rental rights, tenant-owner rights, direct ownership, and the less common cooperative rental right. It is authoritative for institutional definitions, not an evaluation of distributional effects.

Regime and mobility research

The preserved Institute for Urban Research record and raw response summarize Bo Bengtsson, Peter G Håkansson, and Peter Karpestam’s chapter “Residential Mobility and Housing Policy: Continuity and Change in the Swedish Housing Regime” (Emerald, 2019, pp. 139–158) on path dependence, residential mobility, tenure legislation, taxation, and mortgage finance. The preserved page contains the abstract and metadata rather than the full book chapter, so detailed causal claims require the chapter itself.

Current policy assessment

The OECD’s 2025 assessment of Swedish housing supply and demand analyses planning, rent-setting, property taxation, mortgage-interest deductibility, and macroprudential policy.
